Wizard - "The Original Wizard" 1971

Paul Forney (bass) was introduced to Ben Schulz via Charlie Sousa (Cactus) at the University of Florida in 1970. The two hit it off smashingly and they brought in Chris Luhn, and began gigging around jam style with no rehearsals. When they weren't playing out, they were hard at work rehearsing, writing, and jamming come one, come all.
A '67 Pontiac Bonneville with a U-Haul trailer carried them on the summer of 1970 tour, with the highlight being the Goose Lake Festival in Detroit.
Shacking up with The Third Power, sleeping all day, jamming all night with whoever would drop in (including Bob Segar, Frijid Pink, and Catfish).

Bob Fletcher (Decca) took a liking to them, and within a few days, had put down the fruit of their 1000 hours of logged rehearsals, which ended up as this live in the studio recording. However, after being only together for roughly 16 months, and sharing stages with the likes of Iron Butterfly, Chicago, Mountain and Rod Stewart, the band spontaneously evaporated.
