Ruth Copeland - "Play With Fire" 1971

I got to be honest, I'm not crazy about a majority of her catalog, but I think this version of the Stones song kicks major ass. I mean shit, dig the lungs on her! Powerful. Ruth Copeland is best known for her involvement with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic. She produced and wrote two tracks on their debut album, and continued to collaborate with Clinton on Parliament's future works as well.
And I felt at least this tune should get some acknowledgment on this page.

Here lies the thunder of yesterday....

Heavy 70's. The retirement home of underground Proto-Metal, Hard Rock, Heavy Psych, Rock 'n' Roll, Blues Rock, Stoner Rock, Fuzz Tone, Heavy Prog, Prog, Garage Punk, Proto-Punk, Krautrock, and all that was heavy, and LOUD from mid to late 60's through late 70's up to the N.W.O.B.H.M.

Sonic mayhem from a time when volume meant walls of Hiwatts and guitar tones were just as fuzzy as the people playing them. Scores of underground sounds from all over the globe, as well as some well known names.

Most are long gone, others carry on.

A lot of these elder knights of noise have resurrected themselves in recent years due to the ever increasing interest and resurgence of this particular scene of sound. Further proof that gone NEVER means forgotten.

This page is just for shits and kicks and spreadin' great tunes around. I am not a reviewer, nor do I consider myself a journalist of any type. If you're looking for detailed, in depth history, and what all the past members are up to you're in the wrong place. I AM however, a rabid vinyl junkie and "heavy" collector of many types and genres.

That all being said, I hope you get turned on to at least a few bands or find something new to your world you can appreciate.
