Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come 1970

From Wikipedia: "Sir Lord Baltimore is an American rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1968 by lead vocalist/drummer John Garner, guitarist Louis Dambra, and bass player Gary Justin. Some have cited the review of their debut record Kingdom Come in Creem magazine as the first documented use of the term "Heavy Metal" to refer to a style of music." Not to shabby! It's just that too. If there's ANYTHING metal, it's this album. However, again, from Wiki: "the truth is, the same reviewer used the same term reviewing a Humble Pie record in Rolling Stone six months earlier." D'oh! Gotta say this album doesn't sound like Humble Pie. They have also been Sir Lord Baltimore III Raw. The album featured a Cristian focus and lyris. An element not found on their earlier works.
referred to the "godfathers" of stoner rock. Hmmm... I seem to recall reading a few reviews of a handful of other bands that I've profiled on this blog given the same credit. Damn! Lord Baltimore cant catch a break eh? Truth is, this record is metal as shit. Between 1968 and 1976, the band released two albums and began work on a third. In 2006, Garner and Dambra reunited as Sir Lord Baltimore and put out "III Raw."
