Gibbond formed the band in the mid 69's and quickly drew a huge following in the Texas "Teen Scene." The recorded several singles and one full length album titled "Flash". Their single "99th Floor"was well received and hit No.1 in the Houston scene for 6 weeks. The success of this record led the Sidewalks to sign with Wand records, which then released "Need Me", another top 10 hit for the band. The band was asked to open on many tours in including Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. Moore and Summers were recruted by the U.S. Army, and the rest of the band went on to form the first incarnation of ZZ Top.
